For the Balzac Craft Brewing Company, our “WHY” is not centered around just brewing great beer. It’s also about using great beer to do incredible things for our community. We are constantly looking for unique ways to impact those around us when they need it.
One great example of this is Charity Beers. A small batch of beer brewed for a specific organization to drive donations through the sales of the brew itself. This is a unifying way to raise funds and have fun doing it at the same time.
One of our most unique and noteworthy charity beers is our Airdrie Dad’s beer. A charity beer brewed annually around the holidays to drive donations for the Airdrie Food Bank. Each year we poll the AD group to determine what style of beer they want us to brew. This means a different beer every time and to date, this initiative, which first launched in 2019, has raised thousands of dollars for the Airdrie Food Bank.
Another example of combining BCBC and fundraising is how we use our branding to raise funds. Starting Feb 1, 2023, we will begin to sell dog bandana’s in the brewery with the logo “Fetch Life by The Balzac” a play on our Grab Life by The Balzac brand. For each one sold we will be donating funds to the MS Society of Canada making these pup bandanas extra special.
By using our brand and our craft beer to drive charitable donations, Balzac Craft Brewing Company has been able to make a positive impact on our local community. These types of charity initiatives have been a great success. With the beers selling very quickly, and the bandanas bringing awareness to such an incredible organization, we fully intend to expand our efforts.
We are Balzac Craft Brewing Company, a small craft brewery located in Coopers Promenade in Airdrie, Alberta. Not only are we dedicated to providing high-quality handcrafted beers and ciders to our customers, but we are also using our beer to raise money for those who need it. We would encourage anyone out there who owns a brewery to do the same.
